Gearing up for Spring?  Making plans for your summer campouts or outings?  Here are some of the latest outdoor developments. Camping season is opening in Tennessee and South Dakota. A new hammock camping shelter is announced. And learn about an adventure destination in Missouri.

Tennessee Valley Authority Camping Season Opening

In a news release, the TVA has announced that it’s campgrounds are ready for visitors.  The TVA owns more than 80 public recreation areas, campgrounds, day-use areas and boat ramps.  Their season runs until November 15th, so make plans now for your trip to Tennessee!

South Dakota State Parks Taking Reservations

The Department of Game, Fish, and Parks of South Dakota opened up its reservation process in February.  Memorial Day weekend reservations are going quickly, so you may want to jump on this if you’re planning a trip to South Dakota.  Reservations can be made 90 days in advance by going to CampSD.com or calling 800-710-2267

A New Shelter Announced for Hammock Campers

This is a new shelter, called the Nubé, aimed at hammock campers.  It’s a shelter for your hammock.  If you don’t have your own hammock already, they have combo packages available as well.  This is available for pre-order, and will ship in June.  Pre-orders get a slight discount.  Check it out on the Sierra Madre Research web site.
